Body Rhythm Live: Open dance jam with live music

This is an open dance jam with live music for anyone who feels like exploring movement, self-expression, and connection in good company. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or just curious to see where movement can take you, you’re welcome here.

We’ll have a few musicians playing live to get things started, but the music doesn’t belong only to them. Dancers and movers are welcome to join the conversation too—through rhythm, voice, body percussion, instruments, or whatever other creative impulses arise. The idea is not to separate the musicians from the dancers, but to co-create.

You might spend the evening dancing solo, exploring contact improvisation, moving between the two, connecting with others, or taking a moment to sit, listen, and let the music move through you.

We’ll begin with a one-hour guided workshop designed to help us arrive in our bodies, tune into ourselves, and ease into the space together. For those interested in dancing with others, it will also offer some simple tools and a shared vocabulary. The goal is simply to create a common ground from which we can play.

This will be our very first session, which means it’s also an experiment. We don’t have a fixed formula, and that’s intentional. We’ll be discovering what this gathering wants to become by creating it together. We just know that we’re aiming to create a welcoming, respectful, non-judgmental space where people can explore, play, experiment, and be themselves.
