- To stay active while having fun and sharing enjoyable moments
Workshop 1: Capoeira tools for enhancing improvised movement and fluidity by Finhinho
Capoeira angola is the traditional, more ritualistic style of capoeira. Its games are full of symbolic movements, subtle strategy, and deep musical and philosophical expression. It emphasizes slow, deliberate movements and acrobatic elements, close-to-the-ground play, and rich cultural traditions. Its focus on rhythm, improvisation, and the fluid interaction between players creates a shared language of movement that highlights connection between participants and creativity.
This workshop will introduce participants to the foundational concepts and movements of Capoeira Angola, offering tools to expand their movement vocabulary and enhance improvisational expression. It is open to all, welcoming movers, dancers and non-dancers of every level and background.
Workshop 2: Grounded conversations – partnered dance and shared awareness by Agnieszka
In this workshop, we’ll focus on developing body awareness in movement, using somatic approaches to tune into physical sensations and the body’s natural intelligence. We’ll start from the ground up—working with the feet as our base of support and source of movement—and gradually expand this awareness to the whole body. Through simple solo and partnered explorations, we’ll build the sensitivity and connection needed to create improvised dances with a partner. Open to everyone, no dance experience needed.
