Co-leading workshop by Sarah

Have you ever felt that dancing with a partner could be more than just taking turns leading and following? What if it could feel like a real conversation—where both dancers contribute, respond, and create together in the moment?

In this workshop, we will lay foundations for dances where the flow back and forth becomes so fluid and dynamic that it’s difficult to name exactly who initiates a specific move or idea. The result is a shared experience that feels organic and alive.

So this is an invitation to explore dialogue in dance—a way of moving that goes beyond switching roles to something more fluid, playful, and connected. Instead of one person leading and the other following, we’ll experiment with a dynamic exchange: listening, reacting, questioning, and answering—just like in a spoken conversation.

There’s no single “right” way to have this dialogue, but there are tools and principles that can help make it flow. Rather than vague instructions like “just feel into it” or “connect to your partner,” we’ll work with concrete exercises to help you:

🔹 Listen deeply and respond in ways that keep the movement conversation alive.

🔹 Flow between roles naturally, rather than taking turns in fixed positions.

🔹 Navigate interruptions—not as mistakes, but as openings for new creative possibilities.

🔹 Engage in real co-creation, shaping the dance together rather than just reacting separately.

This is not about copying a specific style or following rigid rules. You won’t be told exactly how to move, but you will be given tools to explore your own way of dancing in dialogue. Bring your curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and an openness to discovering new possibilities.

You can already get a Gambler’s Pass for just €40 for both days, without knowing much details about the event.

In the coming month, we will reveal more details about the event on a weekly basis, including information about other workshops and social dance. Once most of the information is published, Gambler’s Pass sales will end, and we will move on to early bird, regular, and late ticket sales.

May is the perfect time to visit Brussels—and an even better time to dance! Join us for the weekend and explore Brussels between dances.
